Appearance: Clear to yellow viscous oil. Liquid. It oxidizes and darkens in air and on exposure to light.
Assay: 97% minimum.
Sulfated Ash: ≤0.1%
Odor: Nearly odorless.
Melting point: 2.5-3.5C literature.
Boiling point: 200-220C literature.
Flash point: 240C literature.
Relative density: around 0.95
Solubility: Insoluble in water, freely soluble in ethanol, miscible in ether.
Storage & Sensitivity: Air Sensitive. Light Sensitive. Ambient temperatures.

DEFINITION
Vitamin E is a form of alpha tocopherol (C29H50O2 ). It includes the following: d- or dl-alpha tocopherol (C29H50O2 ); d- or dl-alpha tocopheryl acetate (C31H52O3); d- or dl-alpha tocopheryl acid succinate (C33H54O5 ). It contains NLT 96.0% and NMT 102.0% of C29H50O2 , C31H52O3 , or C33H54O5 , respectively.
