Cetyl Palmitate is a waxy, white ester made from cetyl alcohol and palmitic acid. It is widely used in cosmetics, personal care lotions, and pharmaceutical formulations as a thickening agent, stabilizer, and skin-conditioning emollients.

DEFINITION
Cetyl Palmitate consists of esters of cetyl alcohol and saturated high molecular weight fatty acids, principally palmitic acid.

Assay: To pass the test by chromatography. --- Acceptance criteria: The palmitate peak is NLT 90% of the total area for all the peaks.

Melting Range or Temperature: 46C to 53C.
